How long are the sessions?Sessions are usually around 50 minutes long, and start either at the hour (0:00 - 0:50) or the half hour (0:30 - 1:20).
-
How often are the sessions?I believe that the most important part of a good therapeutic alliance between the client and the provider is the trust that develops in the relationship. It is very hard to do that especially at the beginning if sessions are not held weekly. For this reason I hold sessions weekly at least for the beginning of therapy. Afterwards the needs of the client are always reassessed to see whether or not every other week is going to be beneficial towards their treatment.

What can I expect from my first appointment?During your first appointment with a new therapist, you can expect to discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your goals, and the therapist's approach. The therapist may ask about your medical history, current challenges, and what you hope to achieve through therapy.

What is a "Good Faith Estimate"?A "Good Faith Estimate" is a document provided by healthcare providers to give patients an estimate of the expected costs for medical services. This estimate aims to help patients understand their potential financial obligations before receiving care, allowing them to make informed decisions about their treatment options. The Good Faith Estimate is part of the No Surprises Act, which aims to protect patients from unexpected medical bills and ensure transparency in healthcare pricing. By providing this estimate, therapists and other healthcare providers help patients plan for their financial responsibilities and avoid surprise charges. Please discuss with me any questions you might have about this issue.
